About the President

For more than 25 years, William (Wally) Robertson has been helping organizations improve operations by obtaining a clear vision of where they want to go and the best way to get there.

Mr. Robertson is a seasoned speaker on topics including BPR, Software Development, Testing, Requirements Management and ISO9000/SEI/TickIT. He is a Senior IT professional with extensive experience in executive management, marketing, project management, customer support and programming.

Before founding B.D.Q. International in 1996, he was a company director in the UK subsidiary of Volt Delta Resources Inc. (a software start up company, serving the Tele-Communications industry). In this position he: Created customer support infrastructure. Negotiated high value added support (resulting in support revenue at 60% of product sales) delivering one contact point for all system components (including third party suppliers such as IBM). Managed internal operations, customer services, independent testing, co-ordination of Trans-Atlantic projects and quality.

Prior to joining Volt Delta Resources, Mr. Robertson worked for Tandem Computers for many years in both the USA and UK. While with Tandem he: Drove quality and ISO9000 programs of Tandem worldwide. Marketed Tandem quality management successes. Assisted business partners worldwide on all aspects of their software businesses (development, support, project management, business management etc.). Technically consulted to customers and software partners on all aspects of Tandem - design, performance, fault tolerance, transaction processing etc. Managed corporate consulting (30 consultants, 600+ engagements / year), global ISO9000 initiative, corporate quality marketing, business planning. Developed a sales and marketing strategy for Tandem in the deregulating UK Securities Market ("Big Bang"). Supported customers and partners who were developing and marketing Tandem based applications.

As an operations and management consultant to the World Bank he: Analyzed use of information technology within the bank for the Director of IT, and recommended changes to reduce costs, enhance services and improve efficiency. For operations, he developed a process and tool for managing third party maintenance; reducing maintenance costs dramatically, while improving quality.

Mr Robertson has lived in Europe, the Far East and America and has consulted to companies on all continents from his bases in London and San Francisco.
Mr. Robertson enjoys Anglo-American dual nationality and operates Trans-Atlantically.
